Burn - In System for laser barsThe Beratron GmbH in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology (ILT) offers customer specific Burn-In Systems for laser bars. The Burn-In Systems are especially designed for develpment purposes, e.g. allowing individual test parameters for each test channel. The CW/Pulsed current - sources are based on Beratrons reliable design. Example of a Burn - In SystemIn cooperation with Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology (ILT) the following descriped Burn-In System was built. 20 test channels aranged in four levels in a single rack are connected via CAN-Bus and controlled by a Computer. Adaptor plates allow the adaption oft test channels to various heat sink geometries. Laser bars mounted to actively cooled as well as passively cooled heat sinks can be opperated. The maximum operation temperature is 70 °C. Individual test parameters can be defined for each test channel by a graphical user interface. The Burn-In System acquires the following data in user defined time intervals:
The Burn-In System permanently monitores all safety relevant functions. Using a web browser, remote observation of data an system status is possible.
Technical specificationThe actual Burn-In System can be operated in different operation and test modes. They can be combined individually for each test channel. • Continiuous wave (CW) operation: max. 150 A• Pulsed operation: max. 200 A ➜ pulse width 100us - 400us ➜ duty cycle 1% - 50% • Switched operation (on/off cycles) ➜ max. 150 A ➜ switching frequency 0,1 Hz - 10 Hz • Constant current mode ➜ degradation of output power is determinded • Constant power mode ➜ output power is kept constant • Characteristic (P-I-V) curves Customer specific optionsThe modular setup of the Burn-In System allows the easy extension and adaption of the system according to customer requirements.
